From 2015 to 2020, she directed the Dortmunder Kunstverein, followed by the Kunstverein Bielefeld in 2023. Previously she worked as a curator for the Kunstverein in Nuremberg and in Bonn. In August 2020 she founded the independent project space Le Berceau in Marseille. She is a regular contributor for Frieze magazine and artists catalogues. Amongst others, she has curated the first institutional solo exhibitions in Germany by Raphaela Vogel, Sol Calero, Elaine Cameron-Weir, Mimosa Echard, Sara Sadik und Tolia Astakhishvili.\r\n\r\n<strong>Barbara Casavecchia<\/strong> is a freelance writer, independent curator and educator based in Venice and Milan, where she teaches at Brera and NABA art academies. She is QuiS Visiting Research Fellow 2023\/24 at St\u00e4delschule, Frankfurt. A contributing editor for Frieze (2011-22), her feature articles, essays and reviews\u2013often focused on Italian contemporary art, visual cultures, and feminisms\u2013have appeared in Art Agenda, Artforum, Art Review, La Repubblica, Flash Art, Kaleidoscope, Mousse, Nero, South\/documenta 14, Spike, among others, as well as in several artist books and catalogues. From 2008 through 2017, she co-curated with Andrea Zegna the public artproject All\u2018Aperto (Fondazione Zegna, Trivero, IT), with community projects and permanent site-specific installations by Daniel Buren, Alberto Garutti, Stefano Arienti, Roman Signer, Marcello Maloberti, Dan Graham, Liliana Moro, Alek O., Laura Pugno, Valentina Vetturi. In 2014, she co-curated with Lorenzo Giusti the retrospective <i>Maria Lai. Ricucire il mond<\/i>o at MAN, Nuoro. In 2018, she curated the exhibition <i>Susan Hiller. Social Facts<\/i> at OGR, Turin. In 2021-23, she led the transdisciplinary curatorial fellowship <i>The Current III<\/i> <i>Mediterraneans: 'Thus waves come in pairs\u2019<\/i> for TBA21-Academy and curated the eponymous exhibition at Ocean Space, Venice (April 22-November 5, 2023), with new commissions by Simone Fattal and Petrit Halilaj &amp; \u00c1lvaro Urbano. She is the editor of the book <i>Thus Waves Come in Pairs.
