Entrambi si interrogano sul concetto di \u201cdisplay\u201d, inteso come combinazione di tecniche, modelli estetici e discorsi che danno forma all\u2019habitat umano.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019obiettivo della residenza era creare le condizioni per una fase di scrittura intensa e focalizzata, favorendo lo scambio di conoscenze, riflessioni critiche e nuove idee. Questo processo \u00e8 stato stimolato dalla presenza episodica di artisti, teorici e pensatori, annunciati di volta in volta.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anna Franceschini stava sviluppando un dottorato incentrato sulla vetrina come dispositivo contiguo al cinema e alla spettacolarit\u00e0 diffusa contemporanea. La sua ricerca esplora la vicinanza concettuale tra mise en sc\u00e8ne delle merci, design espositivo e pratiche di display nel sistema dell\u2019arte contemporanea, indagando il paesaggio urbano visivo attraverso la fenomenologia dei luoghi commerciali e la manifestazione seduttiva dell\u2019attivit\u00e0 urbana del commercio. Il suo approccio evita la sociologia a favore di un\u2019analisi estetica, tracciando un filo diretto tra lo sviluppo dell\u2019iconosfera urbana e l\u2019incremento della sensibilit\u00e0 cinematografica diffusa. Durante la residenza, Franceschini ha formalizzato sezioni della sua tesi, preparando una pubblicazione che raccoglie scritti e materiali iconografici, interrogandosi anche sul formato letterario della stessa.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alessandro Bava ha concentrato la sua ricerca sull\u2019impatto delle tecnologie di automazione e dell\u2019intelligenza aumentata sull\u2019architettura e sull\u2019abitare. In un saggio recente, \u201cIntellectual Work and Augmented Intelligence\u201d, ha elaborato un quadro critico provvisorio per l\u2019intelligenza aumentata, rifiutando la ricerca di uno \u201cstile\u201d legato ai linguaggi computazionali e alla matematica, e proponendo di considerare l\u2019architettura come arte psico-politica e fenomenologica dell\u2019abitare. Durante la residenza ha lavorato a un nuovo saggio sugli ordini classici dell\u2019architettura come dispositivi cibernetici.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Durante il soggiorno a Grasse, Franceschini e Bava hanno avviato anche un progetto collaborativo, intrecciando le rispettive ricerche su cinema, display, spazio e architettura.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>Anna Franceschini<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Pavia, 1979) ha presentato i suoi film e video in festival come Rotterdam, Locarno e Torino, e in istituzioni come Kunstverein D\u00fcsseldorf, Spike Island (Bristol), Museion (Bolzano), Centre Pompidou e Les Abattoirs (Toulouse). Ha curato il progetto filmico di chiusura del Padiglione Italia alla 58. Biennale di Venezia ed \u00e8 fellow presso la Rijksakademie di Amsterdam e l\u2019Italian Academy for Advanced Studies a Columbia University. \u00c8 dottoranda in Visual and Media Studies presso la IULM di Milano, occupandosi di media, storia del cinema, dispositivi pre- e para-cinematografici, exhibition design, industria culturale e critica dei display commerciali.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>Alessandro Bava<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Napoli, 1988), architetto e scrittore con base tra Londra e Napoli, ha studiato alla AA School of Architecture con Pier Vittorio Aureli. La sua ricerca affronta la politica della costruzione e la poetica dello spazio, con lavori presentati al Ludwig Museum (Colonia), Padiglione Britannico alla 15. Biennale di Venezia, 9. Berlin Biennale, Stedelijk Museum. Ha ricevuto il Re Rebaudengo Serpentine Grant 2015, borse della Graham Foundation e il MAK Scholarship di Los Angeles.
