Curated by Alice Motard, the exhibition is dedicated to Chiara Camoni and brings together a significant group of works from the collection of Silvia Fiorucci.

The show also brings together works by Fantine Andrès, Maria Loboda, Marianne Marić, Vibeke Mascini, Lionel Sabatté, Adrianna Wallis and Yuyan Wang, selected and invited by Alice Motard to enter into dialogue with Camoni’s work. Their contributions act as counterpoints, extending and complicating the reflections initiated by the artist’s practice.

The exhibition focuses on one of the recurring elements in Camoni’s practice—the flower—to explore its subversive potential in its many forms: natural and symbolic, artificial and destructive, intimate and confessional. From this perspective, the project offers a new reading of Camoni’s practice, highlighting its complexity while providing a counterpoint to the predominantly ecofeminist interpretations and positive values often associated with her work.

Inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s poetry collection Les Fleurs du mal, the exhibition suggests that beauty finds its fullest expression when it also embraces its darker, unsettling and ambiguous side.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of Public Program events, offering further opportunities to explore the themes and artistic research addressed by the exhibition.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES:

Chiara Camoni (Piacenza, 1974) lives and works in the Apuan Alps in Tuscany. Her practice encompasses drawing, botanical printing, video and, above all, sculpture, with a particular focus on ceramics. Her work often emerges through collaborative processes and practices of shared authorship, which in recent years have taken shape through Il Centro di Sperimentazione.

In 2026, Camoni represents Italy at the Italian Pavilion of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia with the project Con te con tutto, curated by Cecilia Canziani. Her work has been presented at major Italian and international institutions, including Pirelli HangarBicocca, Milan; CAPC Musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux; MIMA – Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art; Museo Patio Herreriano, Valladolid; GAM, Turin; Palazzo Collicola, Spoleto, and many others.

Alice Motard (Paris, 1978) is Director of CEAAC, a renowned contemporary art centre based in Strasbourg, France. Previously, she was Chief Curator at CAPC Musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux (2016–2021), Curator at Spike Island in Bristol (2014–2016), and Deputy Director and Head of Exhibitions at Raven Row in London (2008–2013). She holds a Master’s degree in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art in London and a Master’s degree in Art History from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Freie Universität Berlin.
