Valentine Prissette - Residency in Rome

Residency

July 17-September 14, 2026 – Rome

Valentine Prissette (b. 1998) is currently in residence in Rome at Via Gregoriana 40 as she develops new works for the upcoming exhibition Hypothèse de lecture at Trinità dei Monti, curated by Gaia Bobò and Teresa Ranchino, opening on 18 September.

Prissette’s practice combines reclaimed textiles, wood, and wax in installation-based works. Sheets and domestic fabrics, marked by time and use, become the starting point for a practice that explores the stories embedded in everyday objects, transforming them into sculptural environments that weave together memory, intimacy, and inheritance. Moving between the theatrical and the domestic, her work reflects on the relationship between personal experience and collective memory while engaging with questions of gender and abstraction.
